I also lived in Pershore Tower,moving in november 1969, We moved out in 1971 choosing the over spill option of which i have never regretted , Birmingham Coucil said it would be up tp 10 years before any possiblty of a house in the area . I have been back in the area and yes it is sadly neglected. Yvette

I see some building of 50 or so houses has started on the Tessal Lane side of the site but it’s a drop in the ocean and surely much more is to come if the area is to be ‘regenerated’.

the people of egghill and surrounding areas must realise.we are all worthless nobodys to the council.we have had third class service and somtimes no service from that shower of s***.its really about time every decent person in northfield got together and told them what we want.and not what they decide what we get.i could write a book on how bad we have been treated and used here in northfield

well i was reading this page and didn’t understand where you were all talking about but thinking back we lived in the masonetts at the back of the digle years ago my old man and gus and his twin had motor bikes and mick had one arm and they would repair cars and bikes in the early seventies and i remember there been lots of rats around and the bon bon and chippy were great after school hang outs i would never had thought the council would have let this place run so low and im shocked that the tower blocks have all gone where i would sit with girlfreind tracey kalien on the park i feel for you all down there my heart always belonged there and ashamed to say im glad im not there my farther now lives in frankley and even thats the pits

Interesting to find mention of Lower Beeches Road after having a look round on the internet. My gran lived in Northfleet Tower on this since the flats were built until she was moved out due to demolition in 2000 sadly passing away only 6 months later.

If anyone has any information about why these tower blocks were knocked down when there is still no visible sign of any regeration of this area I would be interested to know!

i ust 2 live in pershore tower lower beeches raod, i moved from thier in 1999 an was told in 18 months 1 would b a returning 2 the new egghill ? nearly 10 years later im in the same rundown property that i thought was 0nly for 18 months , i have been told i am stil movin bk when they build an also have it in written ,from the council 1 have been givin many dates as 2 when they was goin 2 start building but it neva happens . can anyone give me more informatin as the council cant, my flat on lower beeches road was 10 times better than where i am now and the area , why did they put new windows in then waste money by demolising them a year later xx can any0ne please help me as i feel no 1 knows whats happin . thankyou ,

Yes I agree, the general abandonment of the estate by the Council is appalling!
