Used to work in 7’s and drink in 8’s had some awesome times and met a lot of great people….some of my best ever memories..

blimey, i used to go to all of those places….. railway, bill’s, costas, 49ers, eddies, grapes, rios.
we even had coach trips out to the highwayman in cheadle, and one awful one to rhyl when the coach driver didn’t come back to take us home. anyone remember that?
must dig out all my old pics and get ‘em on facebook.
happy memories!

oh and chris, i know it’s been a while since you posted but the song you’re thinking of might be by “the violent femmes” can’t remember the title though.

Flippin’ heck.. this takes me back. Hope Jon Nevin reads this as we were buddies until he swanned off to Canada for the good life..lol.. are you still over there Jon? I used to be a regular at these places with my mates Crocker and Richie Angove (who I am still in touch with). I have such fond memories of so many great people who I feel I was very lucky to have rubbed shoulders with through my youth… cheers one and all! Rob

Just in case anyone reading this is a sabbath fan i went to watch ozzy saturday and an organisation called home of metal. com are trying to archive photos sabbath/zeppelin meorabilia such as badges/ticket stubs/ biker jackets photos etc

hey, great memories of a great club!. i used to frequent “No8″ in 1988/89. there is one particular night i remember very well, a beer shower with another two guys at the bar, resulting in me driving back to selly oak bollock naked in my fiat 131 sport!. the reason i came looking for edwards number 8 is to find someone, anyone who would remember a tune i heard there with my girlfriend now wife helen, i can’t remember much about the song except the memorable line about hiding or pushing someone down a well, it was a slow kinda song, bit american redneckish if i recal, if anyone has a clue about what i’m rambling on about here, please put me out of my misery!, thanks, chris

yeh i remember Tony Craig! I went to the Rio too and the Costers but before that the Golden Eagle and Bogarts!! Remember Marti from Bogies?

Does anybody remember the DJ Tony Craig from the Rio, old bulls head, the grapes, the costers and edwards who was “The Rock Crouds” number one rock DJ from 1970 to 1994 not a bad run 24 years.
